01.jpg - Chinese Checkers, 77" x 110", 1993. This quilt was the first quilt I created. A group of friends in Plymouth, NH called the Variable Stars invited me to join them every week. I did not sew for a while. When friendship quilts were being sewn, I began to participate. The time came for the group to work on my quilt, so I selected fabric, created the pattern, size, etc. and asked each one to sew one large block. Afterwards, I located the fabric that I used to join the blocks into an overall design. The quilt delighted me because it reminded me of a favorite family game, Chinese Checkers.
