| Flag Quilt, 57 1/2" x 62 1/2", 1995 My younger son asked me to create a quilt for him based on the flag that flew outside his grandfather's home in south Alabama. I tried many arrangments before I came up with this design that involved reverse applique, metallic thread, and trim. Unfortunately, when water touched one part of the edge, the red fabric bled into some of the white area. Perhaps it was appropriate. Whatever one's interpretation, it lovingly connected three generations. |
