| Collective Memory, detail, 1999 This detail is all I have for an image sewn for a sculptor friend. I asked him for copies of some of his sketchbook pages and then used his interests to sew. Small shapes are actually suspended from the quilt with threads. Because the imagery seemed compatible with some African sculpture, it took on a blend of visual memories for me. |
