30.jpg - Prayer Quilt, 76 1/2" x 80", 2002 This quilt is very close to my heart. It took a very long time to create but every stitch brought the image that I wanted into focus. The image resulted from the fact that many mornings I would wake up and stretch my arms and hands to heaven in a silent prayer for the day. Again, I stitched the snoofer characters into the quilt with outstretched arms. I also appliqued four larger snoofer characters to represent my thoughts about reverence, questioning, joy, and quiet meditation into the design. I have been asked about the figures in the boat that circles the perimeter. That image is from a foam block print that I created called Northland.
