A salvage place in a nearby town went out of business and as we walked through the store for the last time, I found two batiks that I bought, brought home, washed thoroughly and incorporated as a center for this quilt. The figures in the two pieces of cloth were similar but I further unified them by adding feet and arm/ankle bands to some of the figures. I joined the two batiks and then echoed the central figures in the surrounding design by the clorox gel discharge method and printing with foam plates other pieces of fabric. The final design felt harmonous and the color scheme has been appreciated by many viewers.
